A self-appointed mayor is spinning the town of Twisty Hollow out of order with nonsensical rulings. His cryptic instructions range from the culinary—bacon is frowned upon—to the absurd (fashion tips for ghosts?!).
Featured app of the month in the U.S. on iOS, Android, and Amazon. Featured in Starbucks and Humble Bundle. Winner of the Golden Pocket Gamer Award. Over 1.5 million downloads. I’m incredibly proud of this game, especially when you know some of the backstory.
The core mechanic showed a lot of promise throughout playtesting, but the project lingered as we struggled to find the right monetization strategy. When we finally showed it to our Apple rep, the response was a pretty resounding “meh.”
At that point, the project was handed to me with a clear mandate: reinvent the game and create something worthy of a front-page App Store feature—within three months.
I had to start from scratch and rebuild a game that Apple already didn’t like, on an aggressive timeline. It was daunting, but I was lucky to work with an amazing team and a genuinely innovative mechanic. In the end, we made something I’m truly proud of—something that exceeded our original goals. I hope you think so too.
